Personal/Life Coaching is "A collaborative solution-focused, results-orientated and systematic process
in which the coach facilitates the enhancement of work performance, life experience, self-directed
learning and personal growth of the coachee." (Anthony Grant, University of Sydney, 2000).
Life Coaching is often a process of determining a
Vision of where/how you want to be, defining specific
Goals that embody this vision, and then taking
Actions that help achieve the goals and thus move the
client towards the vision.
My name is Mandy Pontin and I am a UKCP registered Counsellor/Psychotherapist. I help individuals
and couples reflect on and resolve short-term issues or longer-term difficulties. I am professional,
ethical, constructive, approachable, and supportive and use a variety of approaches including
Transactional Analysis (original diploma) and Gestalt. I can also offer creativity in sessions as a
way of stimulating deeper work. I keep up to date with developments in practices by attending regular
CPD. I offer predominantly evening weekday sessions in person or via Zoom. I have worked in a GP
surgery and currently volunteer for an organisation who supports those who perpetrate sexual abuse,
but also victims of such abuse. I have extensive experience of working with drug and alcohol
dependency, relationship difficulties including domestic abuse and bereavement.
